Councilmember (S2) moved to approve the budget and Mayor (S1) seconded the motion; the council voted in favor. The council also created new accounting lines for a Lewiston children’s play, library miscellaneous grants and cemetery-related accounts to improve tracking of those funds.
The mayor said the city will use a new online budget dashboard that provides department-level visibility and will more tightly control reimbursements and budget overruns. He emphasized that departments may reallocate funds internally without exceeding total department budgets, but that the council will require formal adjustments when overall departmental totals change.
