"We already have Axon Body Cameras and Axon Taser equipment," Martinez said, explaining the operational rationale for the procurement.
The five‑year agreement is quoted at $108,738, billed as five annual payments of $21,747.60. City Manager Daniel Jackson said the police department has budgeted funds to cover the purchase. On a motion from Council member Sam Cavazos, seconded by Council member Dewayne Espinosa, the council voted unanimously to approve the Axon Fleet proposal.
The contract is for equipment and integrated services; council members asked staff only about budget availability. The council did not record any conditions or amendments to the procurement at the meeting.
