Alzheimer's advisory council adopts 2024 annual report and policy recommendations

The Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Advisory Council on Sept. 24 in Little Rock approved the minutes of its Aug. 26 meeting and adopted multiple items in its 2024 annual report, including Appendix A and a formal policy recommendation.
Representative Julie Mayberry, Co-Chair, called the meeting to order at 1 p.m. The council recorded attendance including Senator Clint Penzo, Co-Chair; nonvoting members Toney Bailey and Debora Inman; and David Cook, Director of Government Affairs for the Alzheimer's Association, Arkansas Chapter.
The first formal action was approval of the Aug. 26, 2024 minutes. Stephenie Cooke moved to approve the minutes; Cathy Griffin seconded, and the motion carried. The minutes did not record a roll-call tally.
David Cook presented updates to the council's 2024 annual report and moved three related actions. He moved to adopt Appendix A to the annual report; Stephenie Cooke seconded and the motion carried. Cook then moved to adopt a recommendation as a policy recommendation; Stephenie Cooke seconded and the motion carried. Finally, Cook moved to adopt the annual report as amended; Cathy Griffin seconded and the motion carried. The minutes record each motion as "carried" but do not list individual yes/no vote tallies.
With no further business recorded in the minutes, the council adjourned at about 1:15 p.m.
