During the July 9 meeting David Polito raised potential ordinance amendments after reviewing lawyer comments about what the town can require regarding transfer station use.
Polito said the transfer station is intended for Georgetown residents and proposed the committee pursue measures to prevent short‑term renters from bringing trash to the municipal site. He noted the definitions section of the existing ordinance needs clarifying before any enforcement steps are implemented.
Committee members did not adopt an ordinance amendment at the meeting but agreed the legal comments warrant further review and that the definitions will be clarified in drafting potential amendments for Select Board consideration.
