Dave Polito said he had Jon Collins use a skidder to compact spread‑out metals, but the growing pile of returnables remains a pending operational challenge. Committee members discussed contingency plans: continue trying to locate a vendor, recycle glass and aluminum locally and dispose of plastic if pickup cannot be restored, or temporarily stop accepting returnables until a reliable vendor is found.
Committee members said they must develop a plan soon and did not adopt a specific change at the meeting, leaving the decision for staff and future discussion.
