Belfast council appoints new city assessor and administers oath

The council unanimously approved the appointment of the city’s new assessor following a hiring process that began in April. City manager Aaron Herbig told the council the hiring committee had unanimously selected the final candidate from applications received in April and May.
The appointee identified himself in the meeting as “Steve We.” and said he has 35 years of assessing experience, grew up in Lincolnville, and is looking forward to serving Belfast. He took the oath of office during the meeting and was welcomed by council members.
