The De Pere Common Council on June 16 approved a series of routine municipal actions, including community grants, contract awards and licensing renewals, and adopted two ordinances.
Community service grants: Councilors discussed six grant applications and noted the program’s annual budget of $3,000 divided into two distributions. Ald. Prock moved to award $375 to each of four applicants (total $1,500 for that distribution); the motion was seconded and carried by roll call.
Grant repayment and contracts: The council approved staff’s recommendation regarding Porch Bar LLC’s obligation to repay a prorated business‑recruitment grant. The council awarded Contract 2614 for the Main Alley Reconstruction and Contract 2623 to Burm Construction on the recommendation of the Board of Public Works; votes were taken on the floor and carried.
Licenses: A class B fermented malt beverage and class C wine license was approved for DePier Hotel Associates LLC (Townplace Suites, 215 North Wisconsin Street) with agent Tammy Freilley noted; the council also approved the series of license renewals covering the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 licensing period.
Ordinances and resolutions: The council moved to adopt Ordinance 2612 (amending De Pere municipal code section 275, rates and charges) and Ordinance 2613 (amending multiple municipal code chapters) following roll‑call votes. The council also suspended the rules to take up a bundle of resolutions (A–I, K, L) and approved them by roll call. Separately, councilors voted to table Resolution 9J at a developer’s request.
Closed session: Toward the end of the meeting the council voted to convene in closed session pursuant to the Wisconsin statute citation provided for purposes of discussing employment and performance evaluation data for a public employee (the city manager’s annual performance review); certain staff were excused before the closed session.
No contested or lengthy public debate on these routine items is recorded in the transcript; motions were moved, seconded and carried with roll‑call outcomes as noted.
