Pomerene School Governing Board adopts FY25 budget, approves gym electrical contract and IGAs

The Pomerene School Governing Board of Pomerene Elementary District (4188) adopted its fiscal year 2025 budget during a public hearing and regular meeting on July 11, 2024 at the district library in Pomerene, Arizona.
Board member Lianna Contreras moved to approve the FY25 budget; Don Fenn seconded. The motion passed by a recorded vote of 3-0. The published minutes do not specify the adopted dollar total for the FY25 budget.
In other business the board approved a gym electrical contract award. Don Fenn moved to approve the award and Contreras seconded; the motion passed 4-0. The minutes record the approval but do not include the contractor name or contract amount.
The board also approved a resolution authorizing execution of warrants between meetings (motion by Contreras; second by Janelle Blaschke), and two intergovernmental agreements: one with the City of Benson (motion by Contreras; second by Fenn) and one with BTB (motion by Danna Judd; second by Contreras). Each of those motions passed by 4-0 recorded votes.
The consent agenda, which included approval of the June 24, 2024 minutes, ratification of payroll (26-) and expense vouchers (2427-), and personnel items (see Memo #2), was approved earlier in the meeting by a recorded 3-0 vote.
Superintendent Mike Sherman provided information items, including a student council activities balance of $3,014.55. The board set its next meeting for Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 at 6:15 p.m. in the Pomerene School Library and adjourned at 6:41 p.m.
The minutes include an ADA notice with Superintendent Sherman listed as the contact (msherman@pomereneschool.org, 520-586-2407) and state that the board reserves the right to meet in executive session for personnel matters under A.R.S. 38-431.03.A.1, with no action to be taken in executive session.
