The Bremen Board of Selectmen voted 3-0 June 5 to appoint Eric Duffy to the Bremen Conservation Commission after a nomination from the commission.
Ann Nesslage, speaking for the Conservation Commission (BCC), told the Selectmen that Naomi Martin and Susan Davis are preparing an invasive-species display to be placed in the hall of the Town Center to educate residents about local invasive plants. The commission purchased three picnic tables—one for the Hay Property and two for the Hilton O'Connor Property—and named Naomi Martin steward for the Hilton O'Connor site.
The board formalized the appointment of Eric Duffy by a unanimous vote. Resident Steve Barnes also urged the commission and town to reinstate regular mowing of the Hay Property field, noting that it had been mowed in past years.
The commission and Selectmen did not set a public installation date for the invasive display in the transcript; commission members said they will proceed with stewardship assignments for the picnic tables and the new commission member will join future conservation activities.
