Bill Grider addressed the board during public comment to report that, after interior work at MJ Aircraft, his airplane is currently unairworthy and he is concerned about getting parts and access to the plane. He said the contractor has missed promised deadlines and that retrieving parts or obtaining an inspection may require legal or witnessed documentation.
Grider asked whether the airport could provide temporary hangar space or whether an airport representative could accompany him to the hangar as an observer while he documents the condition. Board members replied that hangar space is available at the standard monthly rate and suggested airport staff (Brian) could work with Grider on options. Board members also said that disputes over parts and contractor performance are private business matters between the owner and the contractor and that legal remedies, if needed, would be between those parties.
The board offered to speak with Grider after the meeting to explore options, including temporary placement in available hangar space. No formal board action or commitment of municipal resources beyond standard hangar rental terms was taken at the meeting.
