The Anderson City Airport Board voted to allow its president and vice president to execute a 10‑year lease with Aviation Interiors for Hangar 3 provided the current tenant vacates the premises before July 1. The motion was seconded; one member said "I opposed," but the measure passed by voice vote.
Separately, staff presented a finalized change order for the terminal apron rehabilitation and associated taxiway reseal. The board was told the project came in under budget; in the transcript staff described the finalized under-run amount as "62, $24.70" and stated the board was "saving $62,000." Staff said grant closeout work will commence after final retainage is released and the board is satisfied with the completed work.
Airport staff also reviewed routine items including fuel-sales trends and operations; they noted fuel sales have fallen recently because of high jet fuel prices but that year‑to‑date sales remain higher than in 2025.
The lease authorization was recorded as a contingent administrative approval rather than a final executed contract at the meeting because the current tenant must vacate the hangar before the lease can take effect. The change order was signed by the board before the end of the meeting and staff were authorized to obtain final signatures and proceed with grant closeout steps.
