Superintendent: district accredited; testing schedule set and Homecoming planned for Oct. 10

Superintendent Amerson reported to the board that Mineral Springs School District is accredited by the state and that the district is awaiting the official state report card; he said the district currently carries a grade of C.
K-12 Principal Stacey Gaddis updated the board on interim testing: elementary testing began last week, junior-high testing is scheduled for this week, and senior-high testing is scheduled for next week. Gaddis said she attended a cooperative meeting about the ATLAS test and plans to train staff in October on the test format so teachers can prepare students.
Gaddis also announced that the district Homecoming ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 10. No public comments were recorded during the meeting, and the superintendent returned the session to the board for routine votes later in the agenda.
