The Mineral Springs School Board on Oct. 28 approved a contract and a lease-purchase agreement with Ideal Impact Inc. for work on district HVAC units, with both approvals conditioned on review by the school’s attorney.
Superintendent Amerson introduced a presentation from Jacob Taylor of Ideal Impact Inc., who said the proposed system “conserves energy, saves money, and impacts lives.” Amerson recommended approval after the contract and lease-purchase agreement are reviewed by the school attorney and he consulted with the superintendent.
President William Dixon called for motions to approve the contract and the lease-purchase agreement pending attorney consultation. Ricky Gamble moved to approve the contract pending attorney review; Ray Hawkins seconded the subsequent motion for the lease-purchase agreement. Both motions carried unanimously, 6–0.
Board members did not vote to finalize the contract or execute the lease at the meeting; both approvals were expressly conditioned on the district attorney’s review. The next procedural step is attorney review and any subsequent execution of contract documents if legal counsel clears the agreements.
