Goshen students place at Odyssey of the Mind world finals; board honors teams

Coaches and student members of the district’s Odyssey of the Mind teams presented to the board June 15 and shared their results from regional, state and world competitions. Presenters said one team placed second at states and fourth at World Finals out of 54 teams; another team placed first at states and seventh at Worlds out of 61.
Coaches described their creative sets — made largely from recycled materials such as toilet-paper tubes and cardboard — and explained how students worked collaboratively on miniatures, puppetry and stagecraft. They thanked district administrators, custodial staff, coaches and volunteers for supporting travel and preparation.
Board members praised the students’ accomplishments and presented tokens of appreciation; student representative Francesca Zakarl also offered farewell remarks as she prepares to graduate.
