Goshen teachers recommend Eureka Math Squared for K–6; district readies for competency-based diploma changes

On broader curriculum policy, Gardner summarized a state announcement regarding "New York Inspires," which he described as a move to a competency-based high school diploma framework. He said the change will be phased in, that the state will likely provide standardized rubrics and assessments over time, and that district work on Portrait of a Graduate aligns with those competency goals.
No formal adoption vote for the textbook series occurred at this meeting; Gardner said board approval would be sought at a future meeting once procurement details are in place.
