Applicant updates mitigation for after-the-fact patio at 12 William Crowell Road

Katerina Corlov of Strongtree Engineering represented the homeowner at 12 William Crowell Road and updated the commission on an after-the-fact stone patio of roughly 275 square feet and a roughly 20-square-foot generator pad. Corlov said the team included both areas in mitigation calculations at a 2-to-1 planting ratio and added two eastern red cedars and three beach plums to the planting plan, spacing trees approximately every 20 feet along about 55 feet of mitigation planting.
Corlov reported that the Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program (NHESP) reviewed the submission and indicated the patio is not expected to adversely affect resource habitat or result in a prohibited take of rare species. Commissioners asked technical clarifying questions about spacing, planting detail and whether the plan required additional revisions; staff told the commission they had no outstanding issues and were prepared to draft an order. The commission voted to close the hearing and directed staff to prepare the order for the next meeting.
The applicant will provide a more detailed planting plan as requested by commissioners; no opposition was voiced during the public comment period.
