Premier Lakes reports algae, reduces compressor noise but 'tone' issue remains; Lake E4-A plantings delayed

Premier Lakes’ representative updated the River Ridge Board on lake maintenance July 23, reporting generally improved conditions but seasonal algae and a remaining noise‑tone issue.
Bill Kurth said shorelines, preserves and dry retention areas were in good condition and noted a palm tree on Lake E7A had been removed. He reported that a cabinet installed around the Masters Lake compressor lowered measured sound levels from about 64 to about 52 decibels between the compressor and the screen line. Operations Manager Shane Willis said although decibel levels fell, the tone of the aerator remains an issue for nearby residents; Willis and Kurth will evaluate moving the compressor and report back at the next meeting.
Chair Bob Schultz summarized flooding and littoral needs in Edgewater and requested a meeting with an Edgewater representative (Tim Wilkin) to pursue a mutually acceptable approach. The board reached consensus that Canna lilies should not be planted and that proposed plantings in Lake E4‑A should be delayed until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Association; staff will resubmit the proposal later.
Kurth left the call before the meeting’s end.
