River Ridge CDD accepts resignation from Seat 1; Board to solicit candidates

The River Ridge Community Development District Board of Supervisors accepted the resignation of James Gilman (Seat 1) at its Aug. 27 meeting and discussed steps to appoint a replacement to serve the remainder of the term, which expires in November 2026.
Mrs. Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. Mrs. Adams said Mr. Gilman "represented The Meadows for the last eight years and told a friend resident to submit his resume to her," and the Board agreed to invite interested candidates to apply. Because the seat will be filled by appointment rather than election, staff and board consensus was to e-blast residents in The Meadows with information on candidate qualifications and ask for resumes or letters of interest before the next meeting.
On a motion by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Twombly, the Board accepted Mr. Gilman’s resignation "with all in favor." Staff noted administration of the oath of office and required ethics training and disclosure filings will be provided in a separate package for any appointed candidate.
Next steps: staff will publicize the vacancy, collect candidate materials and place qualified applicants on the next meeting agenda for formal appointment and oath administration.
