The Village of Arnold Board of Trustees took steps June 9 to advance two local capital projects.
Mary Becker presented grant awards and recommended specifications for concrete work at the Carroll Street Courts. Grants listed in the record included $12,000 from the Arnold Community Foundation, $5,000 from the Custer County Foundation and $2,000 from SORC for concrete; $3,500 from Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation for painting and lines. The Board revised the specifications presented, authorized advertisement for sealed bids for the concrete and asked staff to explore alternative options to a $17,200 Pro Track and Tennis painting proposal.
Separately, the Board reviewed an estimate from Sargent Drilling Company of $22,197.73 to repair a local well and voted to accept the estimate.
These actions move both projects into procurement steps; the Carroll Street Courts work will proceed through a sealed-bid process and the well repair will proceed under the accepted estimate.
