Seward County board approves routine minutes, claims and consent agenda; schedules hearings

The Seward County Board of Commissioners handled routine county business on June 16, approving the June 9 meeting minutes, county claims through June 5 and a consent agenda that included sheriff fee and mileage reports, surplus property disposal and annual returns of disposed items.
The meeting recorded a detailed claims list that included major line items for county insurance, road fund expenditures and vendor payments. The consent agenda was approved unanimously. The board agreed that Road Department Administrative Assistant Heidi Fleischman should apply for a grant (deadline Aug. 5, 2026) to host a scrap tire clean-up event April 24–25, 2027, at the Missile Base and accept up to 450 tons of tires.
A Service Subscription Agreement with IDEMIA for LiveScan service was discussed and tabled for later consideration. The board announced upcoming agendas: the Board of Equalization and Board of Commissioners meetings on June 23, and a June 30 public hearing at 9:15 a.m. on a Conditional Use Permit for Prestige Parts LLC (auto salvage yard) followed by a 9:45 a.m. presentation from Collin Hain of the Seward County Chamber & Development Partnership for annual funding consideration.
