Board approves Sandhills Open Road Challenge route, street closures and Grazers event licenses

The Village of Arnold Board of Trustees granted multiple permits on June 9 to accommodate the Sandhills Open Road Challenge (SORC) and related activities.
RT Green presented a parade route planned for Friday, Aug. 8, noting that SORC would not close state highways. The Board approved the parade route; Trustee Jason Jenkins recorded an abstention on the vote. The Board also authorized blocking South Walnut Street and side streets for a Friday car show and North Broadway for a "Burn Out Contest," and approved closures of North Carroll Street and North Walnut Street and an eastbound segment of Tyler Avenue for Saturday events on Aug. 9.
The Board approved a 45-by-45-foot temporary outdoor addition for Grazers Bar & Grill for Aug. 6–9 and a Special Designated Liquor License permitting service in the addition from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. The trustees also approved a Special Designated Liquor License for Grazers to serve at the City Park on Aug. 7 for the SORC supper, with the Arnold Community Center designated as an alternate location.
Where noted in votes, Trustee Jenkins abstained. The Board recorded motions and roll-call votes for all permissions and licenses; no formal objections were recorded in the minutes.
