Board recommends Class D liquor license for Reed’s Food Center after public hearing

The Village of Arnold Board of Trustees unanimously recommended the issuance of a Class D retail liquor license to Reed’s Food Center, 120 S Walnut, following a public hearing at the Arnold Community Center on June 9.
Owner John Reed attended the hearing and told the Board the store’s hours would remain the same except possibly on Sundays, when hours "might change to 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m." He said the store will ensure an employee of legal age is present whenever alcohol is sold and that all IDs will be scanned before alcohol purchases.
No members of the public objected during the hearing. Trustee Austin Snyder moved to close the hearing and, following discussion, the Board voted to recommend issuing the Class D license.
The recommendation will be forwarded to the issuing authority consistent with the local application process; the Board did not record any further conditions on the recommendation at the meeting.
