Resident urges council to scrutinize 'Restore the Grasslands' plat before county hearing

During the public‑comment period, resident Carolyn Mobius urged the council to review and challenge the Restore the Grasslands plat that is scheduled for a county commissioners hearing. Mobius said she met with state Rep. Kenny Noble and presented a packet outlining discrepancies between the plat the county received and the version the city reviewed, including differences in multifamily acreage and the number and location of access points.
Mobius said the traffic‑impact analysis used by one body did not match the final plat sent to the county and that the differences could affect required ingress/egress and fire‑safety measures. "It is materially different in that there's no, all the roads in the big plot...the final plat are within...they go circle around...the TIA you all saw had all the multifamily in 10 acres of land versus the final plat that the commissioners were going to discuss," she said.
Council members and staff noted the county would take action on a resubmitted plat on the coming Monday and that several council members planned to attend the county hearing and offer formal comments. Staff told council it would coordinate and prepare materials for that hearing.
No council action was taken at the meeting; the item remains a county‑level plat decision with city involvement in the public‑comment process.
