Customs and Border Protection to extend Scobey Port hours; county offered town hall

Customs and Border Protection informed Daniels County officials on Nov. 22 that hours at several northern‑border ports, including the Scobey Port of Entry, will change beginning Jan. 6 to match historical seasonal schedules.
Christie, the county clerk and recorder on the call, relayed the CBP press release that Scobey will operate under the historical hours: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. from June 1 through Sept. 15, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Sept. 16 through May 31. CBP offered to hold a town‑hall in the community to answer questions and the county said it would circulate the press release by group email and would not schedule a town‑hall unless public interest materializes.
County staff will forward the CBP materials and the offer of a town‑hall to commissioners and to the county group email list for local stakeholders to review.
