Kings County renews finance‑system support and email archive service

Kings County supervisors approved two IT vendor actions on June 16: a one‑year amendment with Central Square for technical support of the county’s Finance Enterprise system and an annual technical support renewal for the Mimecast email archive provided through CDW Government LLC.
John Devlin, Kings County chief information officer, said the Central Square amendment will extend technical support from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, at a one‑year cost of $92,321; he said that amount is included in the Department of Finance FY26‑27 requested budget (budget unit 121000) and represents an increase of $6,058 over the FY25‑26 renewal. Devlin explained the amendment is needed to avoid interruption to the county’s primary financial system.
Devlin also presented a one‑year renewal for Mimecast email archive technical support, effective June 21, 2026, through June 20, 2027. He said the fiscal impact to the county is listed as $110,713 (included in the IT FY25‑26 adopted budget, budget unit 195000) and that the vendor’s price rose from prior years in part because of inflation. Devlin described Mimecast’s principal functions as archiving for records retention and continuity, and email security features such as phishing tagging, admin alerts and blocking suspicious senders; he said Mimecast integration supports public‑records requests and helps the county recover email that users delete.
Both items were moved and approved by the board; the clerk recorded affirmative votes by the supervisors present.
