Winter Harbor selectmen approve warrants, accept financial reports and clear routine business

The Winter Harbor Board of Selectmen approved routine financial items and cleared several procedural matters at their Feb. 9 meeting at the town office.
The board voted to approve the Selectmen meeting minutes of Jan. 28, 2026, and to approve Warrant #37 dated Feb. 3 and Warrant #38 dated Feb. 5; both actions were recorded as approved 3-0. The board also accepted the Treasurer’s Report dated Feb. 6, 2026, which listed a Trio-General Ledger balance of $974,506.19, a six-month certificate of deposit of $107,539.29 and bond investments reported at market value of $2,868,410.00. The Tax Collector’s Report dated Feb. 6, 2026 was accepted 3-0; taxes receivable were listed as FY26 $1,053,167.09, FY25 $13,690.19 and FY24 $4,744.63.
Selectmen granted the Planning Board permission to use Zoom for one meeting after a motion was made and seconded; the allowance was approved 3-0. The board also designated M. Sargent as the backup representative for SALT meetings; that action was recorded as approved 3-0.
Selectman R. Hemenway raised a facilities issue during the meeting, reporting that a street light at Hillcrest and Main is hanging and requires attention. A Schoodic EMS report was entered as FYI; no action was recorded on that report in the minutes.
The meeting adjourned at 6:35 p.m. and the minutes record a later executive session for personnel matters under 1 M.R.S.A. § 405(6)(A), entered at 6:40 p.m. and concluded at 6:50 p.m.; no details of the executive session were released in the minutes.
