Assessors discuss transfer station attendant vacancy, schedule and training

Assessor Steve Carr reported he had communicated the incumbent attendant Mike Lowell's intent but that no formal resignation has been received. Steve Carr expressed personal interest in taking over the attendant position. Seasonal resident Lars Lokken visited the office and expressed strong interest in working summer hours from June 1 through Oct. 1 if the position becomes available. The clerk confirmed Wednesdays are scheduled 4:30 to 6:30 PM starting May 1 and said she will compile training dates and costs and finalize the transfer station binder with reporting requirements by the end of the month to ensure proper onboarding.
Assessor Rodney Varney clarified that the position must be posted publicly and that a replacement will be determined following the posting. No hiring decision was made at the meeting.
