The RSU 85/MSAD 19 school committee on Nov. 7 approved a one‑year contract with Mechanical Services, Inc., and voted to put bus 122 out to bid and advertise the sale.
Richard Huntley Jr. moved and Richard Eaton seconded approval of the one‑year Mechanical Services contract; the committee voted unanimously to sign it. Earlier in the meeting Huntley had reported that building heat was still not working properly and that the district is attempting to have Gatcomb’s inspect the system.
Wanda Reed moved and Jane Lanctot seconded a motion to put bus 122 out to bid, to place an ad in the Quoddy Tides and to have the town office post the notice on the local channel; that motion also passed unanimously.
During public comment Dana Bradley asked when the bus undercoating would occur and expressed concern about the expense charged by Mechanical Services. Barbara Sellitto asked who installed the heatpumps and who performed the electrical work and whether installers were local; Sellitto said, "AOS should share costs." The committee did not record a staff answer to those questions in the minutes of the meeting.
