Teaching Principal Lovina Wormell presented the principal's report and the board voted unanimously to add one hour to the school day for five days to make up a previously cancelled school day. The motion was moved by Wanda Reed and seconded by Jane Lanctot.
Wormell reviewed upcoming dates and activities, including an instrument demonstration, Beach Day on Sept. 6, STAR testing on Sept. 9, early release on Sept. 11 for trauma-informed de-escalation training, and restorative-practices implementation training later in the month.
During public comment, Dana Bradley said, "the work that has been done looks great." Later in the meeting, the committee voted unanimously to update the district's crisis response plan to include the changes presented to the board; that motion was moved by Wanda Reed and seconded by Jane Lanctot.
The minutes record the operational decisions and scheduled trainings; no budgetary figures or detailed procedural language of the revised crisis plan are included in the minutes.
