Assessors sign warrants, review fireworks permit; transfer-station job remains open

The Board of Assessors handled several routine and administrative items at the June 17 meeting.
The minutes of the June 3 meeting were approved as submitted and warrants 75, 76 and 77 were reviewed and signed (Warrant 75 had been signed earlier in the off-week). The Clerk reported a Remind notification account has been established and a Facebook post is scheduled to invite registered voters to sign up for election reminders; Assessor Taylor cautioned that messaging should clarify the service is limited to registered voters so others are not excluded.
On permits, the Board received a fireworks-permit application from Gail Egounis for a July 5 display on the Barbara Shaughnessy property on Raymond Road. The Board reviewed setback requirements and asked Assessor Varney to do a site visit to verify compliance; the Board also noted that an additional permittee name must be added because the person authorized in writing to conduct the display differs from the named applicant. The Clerk was asked to notify residents about the planned display via the Plantation's website and Facebook page.
The Clerk said no applications have yet been received for the open Transfer Station Attendant position. Assessor Taylor said she will prepare the Town Hall grounds before the Annual Town Meeting by mulching the entry area and planting flowers in the sign box. The meeting adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
