The Board of Assessors met July 29, 2025, and carried motions to approve amended meeting minutes for July 1 and July 25 and signed Warrants 1 through 6 for disbursement.
During continuing business the board directed the clerk to send a finalized logging letter of concern to the Land Use Planning Commission (LUPC). The board also directed the clerk to proceed with obtaining Wi‑Fi services at the town’s transfer station; no contract award or expenditure was recorded at the meeting.
The clerk presented vacation and training day requests and a schedule of office closures for 2025 and 2026, including August 26–27, 2025 training days (office closed on Aug. 27, deputy coverage Aug. 26), Thanksgiving and Christmas week closures in both years, and Patriot’s Week closures and deputy coverage in April 2026. The board approved the proposed vacation and training schedule by consensus.
Board members received draft copies of multiple policies — including Acceptable Use, AI Use, Code of Ethics, Emergency Management Policy Statement & Plan, Financial Policies & Procedures Manual, Forest Fire Mitigation, and Public Meeting Notice & Record Keeping — with work on the drafts to continue at a future meeting and an amended Personnel Policy to be included.
A resident raised a concern about Sunday hours at the transfer station, suggesting reallocation of hours from Sunday to Wednesday; the clerk said she would present the suggestion to the board, and the board expressed consensus that current hours remain suitable. The board also noted receipt of the final draft FY24 audit (June 30, 2024) with no action taken at the meeting.
The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Aug. 12, 2025, and adjourned at 5:09 p.m.
