Murray trustees hold hearings on 2024-25 budget and tax request; no public comment

The Village of Murray Board of Trustees met Sept. 10, 2024, to hear the proposed annual budget and the villages tax request. Chairman Jeff Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. at the Murray Municipal Building and presided over both hearings.
Mindi Clarke, the villages CPA, presented the proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024, and ending Sept. 30, 2025. After the presentation, "Hearing no public comment," Chairman Jeff Anderson closed the Annual Budget hearing at 7:30 p.m., and immediately opened and then closed the tax request hearing at 7:31 p.m when no members of the public spoke.
The hearings followed required notice: the board recorded that the meeting was posted in three public places on Aug. 29, 2024, and published in the Omaha World-Herald notice section on Sept. 6, 2024. Anderson also informed attendees of the Open Meetings Act poster location and said each person who wished to address the board would be allotted three minutes.
No votes or formal actions on the budget or tax request were recorded in the minutes of the meeting; the session concluded with Anderson adjourning the meeting at 7:31 p.m. Village Clerk Shelli Hayes attested to the minutes and certified they were a correct copy of the proceedings.
The hearings set the public record for the budget and tax request for fiscal year Oct. 1, 2024through Sept. 30, 2025. The minutes note that full records and the agenda were available for public inspection at the Village Clerks office.
