Connorville’s public safety leaders told the board on June 15 they will add a part‑time officer and replace two vehicles using insurance proceeds from a totaled unit.
Chief Scott asked the board to approve hiring Carter Greenwell; the chief said Greenwell is currently a deputy with the county sheriff’s office and has up‑to‑date certifications. "Deputy Greenwell is employed at ... the county sheriff’s department here," the chief said. The board moved, seconded and approved the hire.
The chief also said the department received an insurance settlement after a vehicle was totaled and asked permission to use the funds to buy replacements. He presented two vendor quotes — one from Jon/John Jones and one from Reedman — and told the board Jones had stock on hand and could deliver immediately. The board approved purchasing two vehicles identified as insurance replacements.
The motions carried unanimously. The board did not vote on specific purchase orders beyond approving use of insurance proceeds and vendor quotes described at the meeting; final procurement paperwork and vehicle delivery were not completed at the June 15 meeting.
Next steps: staff will finalize vehicle purchase details with selected vendors and onboard the new part‑time hire pending required PERF paperwork and certifications.
