Sagadahoc County commissioners voted Sept. 10 to authorize up to $5,000 from ARPA funds to cover incidentals and a chairlift rental needed to complete a courthouse elevator upgrade.
Administrator Jill Jones summarized the capital accounting: an $82,000 Elevator Capital Reserve, a prior approval of $30,000 from ARPA bringing committed funds to roughly $112,000, and a contractor quote of $113,000. Jones asked the board to authorize up to $5,000 from ARPA for the chairlift rental and potential incidentals.
Commissioner August moved to authorize the ARPA funds; Commissioner Grose seconded and the motion passed 3-0. The minutes record the authorization as up to $5,000 for completion of the project.
