Roxbury selectmen approve storage containers, authorize counsel contact and accept FEMA payment

The Roxbury Board of Selectmen voted on routine town business during its Nov. 14 meeting, approving a series of administrative and budget items.
Selectman Timothy Derouche called the meeting to order. The board unanimously (3‑0) approved the minutes from the Oct. 24 meeting after a motion by Selectman Derouche and a second from Selectman Matthew Patneaude.
The Town Office requested purchase of two 10‑foot storage units — one for the town office and one for the fire department — quoted at $5,600 each including sales tax and delivery. Selectman Matthew Patneaude moved to purchase the containers; Selectman Ray Hodsdon seconded and the motion passed 3‑0.
On a separate matter, the board voted 3‑0 to give the Code Enforcement Officer full flexibility to address issues at Map 2 Lot 39C and instructed the CEO to contact the selectmen with any additional questions.
The board discussed a possible Tax Increment Financing (TIF) amendment and voted 3‑0 to allow Renee to contact lawyer James Saffian for legal follow‑up and advice.
The selectmen scheduled a public hearing on a liquor license application for Bill Hilly for Dec. 6, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.; the fire marshal had approved a maximum occupancy of 87 for the establishment. Selectman Timothy Derouche made the motion to schedule the hearing; Selectman Patneaude seconded and the motion passed 3‑0.
The board also recorded acceptance/approval of a final FEMA/COVID payment in the amount of $5,947.39.
Warrant #21 for $32,515.44 was approved by a 3‑0 vote after a motion by Selectman Patneaude and a second from Selectman Derouche. The board adjourned at 7:11 p.m.
The selectmen set several follow‑up items and upcoming meetings, including a budget meeting on Nov. 30 and workshops on site‑plan and building permit expiration matters on Dec. 19. Twin Energy is scheduled to attend the Dec. 5 selectmen meeting to answer questions about possible wind towers near Roxbury’s existing towers.
