Roxbury schedules emergency plow meeting, sets winter-roads workshop

Roxbury — The Board of Selectmen voted Sept. 26 to schedule an emergency plow meeting on Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. and to hold a winter-roads workshop on Nov. 8 following receipt of updated insurance information.
Selectman Timothy Derouche moved to schedule the emergency plow meeting; Selectman Matthew Patneaude seconded and the motion passed 3-0. The board said the Nov. 8 workshop will include Selectmen Patneaude and Derouche and the plow contractor; they also instructed staff to ask the town lawyer follow-up questions related to winter roads and contracts.
The board reported that summer-road work by Swaseys has started on several projects. They also discussed seeking quotes for a storage shed to include in next year’s budget and noted plans to try moving a speed sign toward Route 17 next summer.
The emergency plow meeting is intended to finalize winter operations and insurance details ahead of the season; no formal vote on a winter maintenance contract or budget appropriation was recorded at the Sept. 26 meeting.
