The Board of Selectmen, meeting at the Town Office, voted 2‑0 to accept Glovers Septic’s porta‑potty bid for $6,951 and to approve a three‑year lawn‑mowing contract from Nick Pierce for $12,750. Matthew Patneaude moved to accept the lower porta‑potty bid; Timothy Derouche seconded. The record notes an owner spoke in support of the Glovers bid and the board required updated insurance and workers' compensation paperwork before finalizing the contract.
The board considered a single beach‑and‑boat‑landing cleaning bid from Mary Allen for $12,000. A motion by Patneaude to re‑advertise the work received no second and therefore failed; a subsequent motion by Derouche to accept Allen’s bid contingent on the annual meeting and insurance documentation also failed for lack of a second, and the item will be revisited at a future meeting.

The minutes record that the town currently lacks flood insurance for the town office and the fire department; Patneaude asked staff to seek a FEMA quote and to place flood insurance on the warrant for a future resident vote.
For auditing services, Derouche moved to engage RHR Smith and Company, CPAs, pending confirmation from the Maine Municipal Association that Roxbury can defer formal auditor engagement until April after the annual meeting and pending approval of funds; Patneaude seconded and the motion passed 2‑0.
The board set a budget meeting for Jan. 17 at 2:00 p.m., named Dave Duguay as moderator for the town meeting, and scheduled public hearings for Jan. 23 at 5:00 p.m. for the Site Plan Review Application, Building Permit Application with fee schedule, and a Solar Application. The selectmen also reviewed and completed paperwork related to an RSU 10 bank bond.
Other routine items included a roof inspection due back in February, Code Enforcement Office reports about shoreland and dock issues (including Lake DEP concerns at 14 Sunset Cove and activity at Map 2 Lot 39C), and ongoing work on a comprehensive plan. The board signed a warrant for $24,329.71 and adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
The selectmen approved the minutes of Dec. 21, 2023 (vote 2‑0). The next selectmen meeting is scheduled for Jan. 23, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.; the Planning Board meets Jan. 18 at 6:00 p.m.
