Roxbury selectmen approve 2024 calendar, payroll timing and $1,500 walking-trail flagging

The Roxbury Board of Selectmen on Dec. 5 approved several routine municipal actions, including adoption of the 2024 meeting calendar, an adjustment to payroll timing and a $1,500 contract to flag a walking trail.
Ray Hodsdon moved to accept the town calendar for 2024; Selectman Matthew Patneaude seconded and the motion passed 2-0. The board later voted 2-0 to allow payroll to be paid ahead for the current week and the next meeting week to keep budgeting and pay checks on schedule.
Facing an estimated cost to mark a new walking trail, the board approved paying Mainland (vendor) $1,500 to begin flagging the route; the motion was made by Hodsdon, seconded by Patneaude and passed 2-0. The board also approved the warrant in the amount of $27,659.36 on a 2-0 vote.
These actions were procedural approvals on routine agenda items; the board did not take additional policy or funding changes beyond the motions recorded. The next regular Selectmen’s meeting is scheduled for Dec. 19, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
