Resident reports vandalism; another urges mayor to block LGBT-promoting events, mayor defends legal celebrations

Resident Derek Johnson said he is experiencing continuing vandalism at his property on Manchester Drive and has spoken with the police department but the issues persist. The Police Chief followed up with Mr. Johnson after the meeting, according to the minutes.
Another commenter, Tim Ridings, told the mayor he opposed permitting events that he characterized as promoting homosexuality. Mayor Moore replied that he would support any event that allows someone to celebrate who they are, provided the event is legal.
The council took no immediate action on either public comment during the meeting.
