CRTPA adopts $490 million FY2027–2031 TIP, with large share for road resurfacing

The CRTPA voted unanimously to adopt a resolution endorsing the Fiscal Year 2027–2031 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), board members recorded during a roll call at the meeting.
Mr. Burke, the agency staff presenter, told the board the TIP “reflects the projects within the CRTPA region that have received funding in the state work program” and “demonstrates that the transportation projects that are funded are fiscally feasible.” He said the document programs almost $490 million, with about half of programmed dollars devoted to resurfacing and general system maintenance.
Burke highlighted several projects included in the TIP: construction funding for LL Wallace to Wakulla Springs Road (State Road 6061) in fiscal year 2028 with a total project cost of about $17 million; right‑of‑way funding in FY2027 for a segment of Crawfordville Road; and resurfacing projects across regional corridors including I‑10, Thomasville Road and US‑27. He noted Appendix B of the packet lists project status, next phases and outstanding funding needs.
After the presentation the board moved to adopt the resolution. A roll call recorded 'yes' votes from Commissioners Goldwire, O'Keefe, Maddox, Miner, Matlo, Richardson and Williams Cox; the chair also recorded an affirmative vote and the motion passed unanimously.
Next steps outlined by staff call for submitting the adopted TIP to FDOT and for the governor to approve the final program. Board members asked staff to provide follow‑up materials about specific resurfacing schedules and constituent questions, and staff said they would supply those details after the meeting.
The CRTPA’s action puts the FY2027–2031 project list into the state process; projects proceed to implementation only as FDOT and state budgets allocate the scheduled funding.
