RSU 23 reviews CRS grant spending, reports near-complete device distribution

At the Sept. 17 meeting the RSU 23 finance update noted the district’s CRS grant totals $564,197.74 with $343,219.35 already spent. Board Chair Dave Boudreau said grant expenditures covered a new bus and its equipment, tent rentals to allow physical spacing, personal protective equipment, technology purchases and stipends. He said certain stipends are being paid at 50% now with the remainder contingent on spring activity.
Board member Peter Flaherty reported progress on Jameson Elementary School’s exterior work, saying he has been observing daily and that the outside appears nearly complete. He said he has not inspected the interior but noted visible progress.
Christopher LaSalle told the board the district is roughly 1:1 for student devices: "95% of our students have received their devices and we should get the rest out by early next week." He also instructed that technology issues can be reported through the district website technology ticket form (www.rsu23.org).
The minutes record no vote or formal decision attached to the grant update or the technology status report; these were presented as committee reports and informational items.
