The Village of Fox River Grove on Tuesday voted to reject all proposals submitted for residential waste, recycling and landscape-waste collection services after staff concluded the bids did not include required criteria.
Administrator Soderholm told the board the three proposals received were incomplete relative to the specifications staff had requested and recommended denial of all bids so staff could pursue direct negotiations with the two lowest bidders. "Given the incompleteness of the bids, staff is requesting the Board deny all bids received and give consent for direct negotiations with the two lowest bidders," Soderholm said.
Trustees voted to reject all proposals; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with Trustees Jennifer Curtiss, Devin Hester, Steve Knar, Andrew Migdal and Melissa Schladt recorded as "yes." Administrator Soderholm noted the current service contract with Lakeshore Recycling expires Jan. 31, 2025.
The board did not specify contract terms or name the two bidders to be contacted; staff was directed to proceed with negotiations consistent with the board’s action.
