Readfield Select Board approves warrants, reserve transfers, renames committee and OKs Kent Hill liquor license

Readfield — The select board moved unanimously on a series of routine but consequential items during its Jan. 12 meeting, approving warrants and several budget transfers and granting a special-event liquor license.
The board approved warrants 25 and 26 totaling $81,689.53 and warrants 27 and 28 totaling $93,423.74; the Chair announced both votes were unanimous. On transfers, the board approved a $19,895.37 transfer from the capital equipment reserve to the capital leases reserve to correct a negative balance created after the sale of a town truck, and later approved a $4,500 transfer from the select board contingency to the PEG equipment line to properly account for meeting-room video equipment purchased and reimbursed to Bill.
Other actions: the board accepted a recommendation to rename the Road Committee the Transportation Committee and broaden its charge to include drainage, sidewalks, traffic calming and bicycle/pedestrian planning. The board also waived a public hearing and approved a special-event liquor license for Kent Hill School’s ski-lodge fundraiser. All votes were announced as unanimous; the transcript does not record roll-call tallies.
The board adjourned following routine scheduling announcements; its next regular meeting was confirmed for Feb. 9.
