Port Clinton council hears ODOT GoBus presentation; administration asks for expedited ordinance consideration

Mayor Snider told council the administration is asking that Ordinance 35-25 be adopted at second reading on an expedited timeline because the GoBus contract must be signed by Dec. 19, 2025. The ordinance would authorize the director of Safety and Service to enter into an agreement with Hocking Athens Perry Community Action Partners and Barons Bus to provide a community bus service known as GoBus to the City of Port Clinton and declares an emergency.
The presentation materials were recorded in the meeting packet and a video link was posted by the city. Council took no final action on the ordinance on Nov. 25; under first reading the item was calendared for second reading at the Dec. 9, 2025 council meeting. If adopted at second reading, the ordinance would allow the administration to finalize the contract before the Dec. 19 deadline.
The council did not vote on Ordinance 35-25 at the Nov. 25 meeting. The next council meeting is Dec. 9, 2025, when the item is scheduled for its second reading.
