Town rolls out "WiFi-on-the-Green" and hears sewer authority upgrades and grant plans

Selectman John Bongiorno told the board the WiFi-on-the-Green installation is complete and the town is awaiting final documentation from Frontier. He said the Advanced Technology Commission expects to finalize an Acceptable Use Policy and an Artificial Intelligence policy before the next commission meeting.
Bongiorno also reported that the UV disinfection system at the Sewer Department is operational. He said the WPCA is considering a peer review of a recent engineering study and is exploring whether a state grant could be obtained to survey the town’s entire sewer collection system after increased inflow was observed during rainstorms. The board did not vote on funding for a survey; Bongiorno described the grant pursuit as exploratory and part of the WPCA’s planning process.
