Council repasses ordinances to avoid sunset, approves FullBloom cannabis license and $10,000 facade grant

Presque Isle — On Jan. 7 the City Council moved to repass a package of ordinances and approved several permit and grant items: the repassage prevents a set of municipal ordinances from lapsing, a cannabis business license renewal was approved, and a facade grant was awarded to a Main Street business.
City staff recommended the council repass a list of ordinances subject to sunset, including chapters on the city seal, assessment review board, taxi regulations, building and energy codes, public assemblies, special amusement, council compensation, emergency management and adult-use/medical marijuana business rules. Councilors voted to repass the listed chapters as a single item to maintain legal continuity; staff said they will return in February with any needed amendments.
The council also approved an adult-use and medical marijuana license application for Kelsey Clap doing business as FullBloom Cannabis at 445 Main Street after staff said the application was complete and public safety raised no objections. The motion to accept the application carried unanimously.
Separately, the council accepted a recommendation from the Presque Isle Development Fund trustees to award a $10,000 facade grant to Dan Pierce (doing business as MFX Incorporated) for new concrete steps and related storefront work; councilors approved the grant by voice vote.
No citizen comments were offered during the public-comment segment of the meeting. The council adjourned into an executive session at the end of the evening to discuss labor contracts and negotiations under the state statute cited on the record.
