Board members chose May 17 to avoid conflicts with Mother’s Day and other memorial events and emphasized better outreach to improve participation.
The board then debated how to proceed with the Burst Park Board. One member said they had asked for virtual access for two years with no action and made a motion authorizing Eric to draft a letter on behalf of the Select Board asking the Burst Park Board to consider a virtual meeting platform and greater public/member participation. The motion passed unanimously.
Separately, a board member disclosed they had been invited to participate in the school district’s strategic planning ‘plan to plan’ phase as a private individual; the board said there was no objection but cautioned about perceptions of conflict for any deeper involvement.
Next steps: staff will finalize cleanup communications and send the authorized letter to the Burst Park Board; the Select Board will monitor any response and return to the issue if follow‑up is required.
