Developers say they will not annex if Linda’s Retirement subdivision fails, board told

Chair Hobelman reported that Miller & Associates will send a final review letter on the Linda’s Retirement preliminary plat and that developers said they will not pursue annexation if the subdivision does not move forward.
Chair Joe Hobelman updated the Village of Denton Board of Trustees on a Zoom review of the Linda’s Retirement preliminary plat at the July 8 meeting.
Hobelman said he spoke with Craig Bennet of Miller & Associates, and that "Bennet will submit a final letter to the developer regarding his review of the preliminary plat." He noted the review identified items that need attention before the plat can go to the planning commission and that the developers "stated if the subdivision doesn’t work, they will not annex the property." Hobelman said the developers will resubmit zoning requests once they receive the review.
The board did not take formal action on the plat at the meeting; the record shows the item remains under review and will return to the planning commission after developers address the listed issues.
