Lebanon Township's Committee on Aug. 21 accepted the resignation of Chief Financial Officer Greg Della Pia, authorized an emergency legal appropriation, released remaining volunteer fire department funding and approved the township's bill list totaling $3,520,504.55.
Tom McKee moved, and the Committee unanimously adopted, Resolution No. 132-2024 accepting Mr. Della Pia's resignation effective Aug. 31, 2024; members thanked him for his service on the record. The Committee then adopted Resolution No. 133-2024, authorizing an emergency appropriation of $125,000 for an unexpected legal matter under N.J.S.A. 40A:4-48; the resolution directs that the appropriation be provided for in the 2025 budget and requests exclusion from CAPS per statute.
Separately, the Committee approved Resolution No. 137-2024 to release the remaining $34,000 of a previously appropriated $130,000 budget amount to the Lebanon Township Volunteer Fire Department. Committee members recorded motions and unanimous ayes.
In open session the Committee approved the bill list for Aug. 21, 2024, in the amount of $3,520,504.55 and discussed vouchers over $1,000 as required by policy. The packet references certification of available funds for personnel items and directs CFO/finance staff to process payments and refunds as approved.
Next steps: the CFO vacancy will be handled administratively per personnel policy; the emergency appropriation will be included in the 2025 budget as directed, and the finance office will process the authorized refunds and bill payments.
