Greene County holds public hearing and authorizes PY26 CDBG application for Jamestown water project

The Greene County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on June 4 for the PY26 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Cities Program application proposing water facility improvements in the Village of Jamestown.
Sarah Mault, Community Development Coordinator, said the County is eligible for up to $500,000 in CDBG funding and that the Jamestown Critical Infrastructure Project is estimated at $543,750. The request before the board would seek $499,250 in CDBG funds with other funding totaling $44,500. No members of the public spoke for or against the application during the hearing, which was called at 1:20 p.m. and closed at 1:22 p.m.
Following the hearing, Commissioner Sarah J. Mays moved Resolution 26-6-4-24 to authorize submission of the PY26 CDBG Critical Infrastructure application for the Village of Jamestown; Commissioner Richard D. Gould seconded the motion, and roll call was unanimous.
The application, if awarded, would fund water facility improvements in Jamestown as described in the Environmental Review Certification approved earlier in the meeting. Next steps are submission of the application and any subsequent state-level review and award decisions; the minutes record no public opposition at this hearing.
